The Ranger has made a comeback. After seven years, Ford is bringing back the midsize Ford Ranger to its pickup truck lineup. The new Ranger will have a handsome exterior, with a rounded front fascia, a wide grille, and tapered side moldings. Two available packages - a Sport appearance package and a Chrome appearance package - will be available for an even more distinctive look. The Ford Ranger Will Have Class-Leading Capability

The new Ford Ranger will have class-leading towing and hauling capacities, with a tow rating of 7,500 pounds and a payload limit of 1,860 pounds. Its 270-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine with Auto Start-Stop technology will give it an EPA-estimated 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The new Ford Ranger's 10-speed Select-Shift automatic transmission will deliver smooth, quick shifting up and down the gearbox. Two-wheel-drive models will have 8.4 inches of ground clearance, while the four-wheel models will have 8.9. Both versions offer electronically locking rear differentials, while the front remains open in 4x4s. The Ranger will have four selectable settings in its Terrain Management System - including Normal, Grass, Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts, or Sand - so you can adapt the ride to suit the road conditions. An Off-Road Package will be available with tuned off-road monotube shocks, all-terrain tires, and heavy-duty skid plates.


The New Ranger Will Come in Three Trim Levels

The new Ford Ranger will have a stylish interior with comfortable, supportive seats. Three trim levels (XL, XLT, and Lariat) and two cab styles (SuperCab and SuperCrew) will be available so you can choose one that's right for you. The SuperCab will provide seating for two in front, with bucket seats, and two in the rear with the bench seat, which will have an under-seat storage area. SuperCrew models will seat five, with four full-size doors and under-seat storage in the rear. The new Ranger will keep you entertained and connected on the road with its available SYNC 3 infotainment system. Its easy-to-use, voice-activated technology will have an 8-inch center stack touchscreen with a sleek, user-friendly interface. An available Wi-Fi hotspot will allow you to connect up to 10 devices at once, with access from up to 50 feet outside the Ranger's cabin.


The New Ford Ranger Will Have Abundant Safety Technology

A good pickup truck needs to be safe, and the new Ford Ranger will have the Ford Co-Pilot 360 suite of driver assistance technologies standard on XLT and Lariat models. This will include lane keep assist, a blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera.
