Trim Levels
The 2024 Ford Edge is available in four trim levels:
- Ford Edge SE
- Ford Edge SEL
- Ford Edge ST-Line
- Ford Edge Titanium
A Good-Looking SUV
Ford employs two design schemes for the Edge based on the trim. The Ford Edge SE, Ford Edge ST-Line, and Ford Edge ST employ exteriors with dark bezels and limited chrome accents. The Ford Edge SEL and Ford Edge Titanium are heavier with chrome features. Available wheels range from 18 to 21 inches. Ten exterior paint colors are also available. Ford opted for a curvier design than many manufacturers now use for their SUVs. The Ford Edge is appealing, especially if you're looking for a more traditional-looking ride.
A notable feature of the interior of the new Ford Edge is its decidedly spacious cargo area. Unlike many other mid-size SUVs, the Ford Edge forgoes a third seating row to provide additional cargo and passenger space. With the second-row seats up, drivers can access 39.2 cubic feet of cargo capacity. By folding the seats down, that figure hits 73.4 cubic feet. The interior maintains a standard bordering on luxury. Lewiston drivers will appreciate the bucket-style front seats. They'll also choose premium cloth or leatherette seating materials. The interior is available in black, tan, and navy.
Performance
The first four trim levels employ a 2.0-liter engine in an inline four-cylinder setup. Pushing 250 horsepower, this engine already delivers respectable power. It also achieves 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. The 2.0 also gains 1,500 pounds of towing capacity. However, folks who want an experience closer to a sporty compact SUV will want to look at the Ford Edge ST. Its 2.7-liter V-6 engine takes the Ford Edge to another level. It hits 335 horsepower and can tow 3,500 pounds. It also gets an EPA-estimated 19 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Every version of the Ford Edge is an all-wheel drive system. Independent front and rear suspension setups provide a smooth ride. The vehicle also benefits from traction and torque-vectoring control to provide excellent handling.
A Tech-Savvy SUV
Poland, ME, drivers often instantly notice the 12-inch infotainment display in the dash of the 2024 Ford Edge. The touchscreen system is vertically oriented and provides compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio. You'll also access a USB media hub compatible with Type-A and Type-C connectors. Using the FordPass Connect system, the Ford Edge will even serve a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The base package employs a six-speaker audio system. Audio fans may want to check out the optional 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen system with a subwoofer.
Safety and Warranties
From the Ford Edge SE trim up, the Ford Edge is loaded with safety features. Sabattus drivers will appreciate blind spots and lane-departure warnings. Cross-traffic alerts are standard, too. A collision mitigation system also interoperates with the emergency braking assist to reduce the risk of accidents. The Ford brand warrants the Ford Edge from bumper to bumper for three years or 36,000 miles. The drivetrain warranty and roadside assistance plan cover five years or 60,000 miles.
